Disaster Services
Our American Red Cross volunteers are on the frontlines of providing emergency assistance and are the first face of the American Red Cross that people see after they have experienced a local, regional or national disaster. Our Disaster Action Teams are out on the streets and in the communities, day and night, to meet the needs of families and residents with food, clothing, temporary housing, mental health support and emergency supplies.
Disaster Preparedness
The Carolina Piedmont Region of American Red Cross engages in on-going preparedness activities to help people prepare for disasters and/or emergencies before they happen through the sharing of information, community presentations and public service announcements. Our goals are:
- Increasing public awareness of the natural and human-caused hazards that threaten them.
- Educating members of the community to help them prevent, prepare for, respond to and reduce the severity of disasters.
- Ensuring that people are aware of risks in their communities and know the appropriate actions to take to reduce injury, loss of life and loss of property.
- Motivate people to take these steps
